ABOUT THE INTERIOR DESIGN
Singh Bhavan, roughly translated to The Singh’s Big House or Great House, is a modern take on day-to-day living. So often now in home design, modern contemporary is seen as being sterile and unapproachable, but we wanted to change that narrative. Maria Hayes-Joshua, one of the in-house designers with Murphy’s Custom Homes, worked closely with the clients to create a home of soft sophistication befitting of any family.
Smooth monochromatic tones are drawn through each space, creating a cohesive mix of textures and finishes. Bold accents within the home creates a focal point in each space, grounding more subtle design features around it. Visual hierarchy of space has influenced the placement and use of each element, allowing users to more easily travel through the home and to pick up on environmental cues directing actions and purpose of each area. Comfortable furniture, elegant art pieces, and accessories bring this home to life, creating a space for all friends and family to enjoy.
