This mountain modern retreat designed by David A. Langley Architects pushes the envelope on state-of-the-art architecture uniquely designed for its surroundings. Aimed perfectly to the expansive Rocky Mountain views, this home features 13 pitches of sweeping roof lines, sky-high windows, and spacious areas for gathering and enjoying the outdoors. The home grows out of the hillside, inviting guests through its dramatic entry to the more than 20 feet of windows framing Pikes Peak. Natural materials, such as exposed wood, steel beam rafters and natural stone finishes extend from inside to out, giving this 7,000 square foot dream a direct connection to nature. Among the home’s many cutting-edge products is a two-loop radiant heat system, recently featured in Lochinvar’s industry magazine. The open floor plan flows naturally from top to bottom and from interior spaces to exterior decks and patios. In show-stopping fashion, the four-bedroom, seven-bathroom home’s main level features a stunningly unique three-sided fireplace, while the lower level gathers the family to its sunken theater room featuring a 120” screen for memory-making fun.

ABOUT THE INTERIOR DESIGN
The design vision for the Mountain Modern Retreat was to emphasize unique materials, raw detailing and incorporating nature-inspired elements within. The combination of visible structural elements paired with the warmth of wood breathed life into the space. Darker materials in their rawest form and sleek detailing combine to create an industrial modern style. The mixture of these is showcased in such details as the copper stitching, ribbed woods, and elevated lighting. The minimalist aesthetic not only leaves space for the beauty that surrounds this home but creates a welcoming environment for both family and friends to enjoy.
