Home Information
The goal of this project was to tum an existing basement space into a beautiful bathroom. But not just any bathroom, this would include a steam shower with seating for up to four people.
Space from an existing bedroom was used to tum the basic basement bedroom into a guest suite with a private bath, including a separate area for the steam shower. Access is provided via a hall entrance to make it close and comfortable for guests. A private water closet was created, with a sink/vanity area as well as additional storage and countertop space.
The steam shower generator and components are from Mr. Steam, including speakers and digital controls. The steam shower is designed with shelving on the exterior for towels. There are two long Montclaire White quartz benches for seating, each with a small cubby that includes quartz shelves at the end for supplies and drinks.
The tilework is incredible, full of detail, including a curved ceiling that makes it feel spa-like while also creating a way for the water to run to the walls instead of dripping from the ceiling. The tile is a combination of Glenrock's Travertini, Crossville's Comfort C, and Silver Clouds basketweave on the shower pan.
Plumbing fixtures are Moen's 90 degree in brushed nickel with a Toto Drake toilet. Semi-custom cabinetry by Showplace with Amerock Blackrock hardware.
Designer Tera Kane, of Stewart Remodel Design Build, surpassed all expectations by creating such an elegant and stunning setting while providing clients and their guests with a spa-like experience.
